I started this site in early 2010, during my own search for a pistol safe. I was frustrated by the lack of a consolidated place to read about pros and cons of the various safe manufacturers out there. You could find information on Amazon, but that was mostly salesy info. There was a piece here and there from gun forums of someone talking about it, but many of those posts were about gun safes, not pistol safes.

At the end of the day, I thought I could bring some additional information to the rest of the world. Maybe make the next guy’s search a little easier. While I don’t sell any of the products, I do have links on the sidebar for many popular handgun safes that people are often searching for. That will take you to Amazon, where you can make a purchase. I chose them over other retailers as I trust them and know they will give you great service.

Just a little bit about me:

My name is Todd Christiansen. I am married with 3 kids (2 girls and 1 boy) under 10. It makes for a busy house with soccer, school, baseball, and church activities. I live in the country in a suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am a member of my local gun club, but I would not classify myself as a gun nut. I own a couple handguns. My first was a Glock 27, which I still carry most everyday concealed (I have my CCW permit). In my off-line job, I was doing business in some sketchy parts of Minneapolis and had a couple situations where I did not feel safe. I bought the Glock and then took several classes on defensive handguns to learn how to use it properly. I bought my first pistol safe shortly after buying my pistol. I initially kept the Glock in my small home safe, but found it was not the right application. Since then, I have purchased and demo’d other units.
